The body of American-Turkish activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was killed by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) during a peaceful protest on Mount Sabih in Nablus, arrived in Turkey.

The coffin was first flown from Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv to Baku, Azerbaijan, and then transported to Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight early Friday morning.

During the official ceremony at Istanbul Airport’s VIP lounge, Eygi’s coffin, draped in the Turkish flag, was carried by a military honor guard.

Following the ceremony, the coffin was flown to Izmir, where Eygi will be buried in Aydin.

Earlier, US and Palestinian officials confirmed that Eygi, 26, was killed during protests against an “Israeli” settlement expansion last Friday.

The Israeli military acknowledged firing at protesters but claimed the shots were aimed at a different target.
