Tunisian authorities arrested four individuals following the raising of the Turkish flag above the headquarters of the Tunisian National Railway Company (SNCFT), according to local media reports.

The incident sparked confusion and public attention due to the similarity between the Turkish and Tunisian flags, both of which are red and white with a crescent and star.

However, Tunisia’s flag features a red crescent and star set within a white circle, while the Turkish flag displays these celestial symbols in white directly on a red background.

The SNCFT quickly apologized for the error and removed the Turkish flag on Wednesday.

The company also clarified that the flags were mistakenly swapped, though no further explanation was provided.

The incident has prompted the Ministry of Transport to initiate an investigation, aiming to determine responsibility and impose appropriate administrative and regulatory sanctions.
