Monday, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump attributed the assassination attempt against him to the rhetoric of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, according to AFP.

Trump stated that the suspect in the incident "was influenced by the rhetoric of Biden and Harris and acted accordingly." He further claimed in an interview with Fox News that "their rhetoric leads to attempts on my life."

Earlier Sunday, Trump’s campaign announced that he had been secured following a shooting incident near his location. The campaign clarified that Trump was unharmed and that details of the incident are still unclear.

Trump, speaking after the shooting near his resort, declared, "Nothing will stop me... I will never surrender."

The New York Times reported that Trump informed his campaign donors that the shooting occurred near his headquarters and assured them of his safety.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also stated that Trump had survived a new assassination attempt and confirmed he is alive and well.

Earlier in July 2024, Donald Trump was shot at as he was delivering a speech at a rally in Pennsylvania and was quickly surrounded by armed security.
