Lebanon's General Directorate of Civil Aviation announced an immediate ban on pagers and walkie-talkies aboard flights, effective Thursday, Anadolu Agency reported.

The ban comes in the wake of two waves of explosions on Tuesday and Wednesday that resulted in at least 32 fatalities and injured approximately 3,250 individuals.

The explosions, which struck thousands of communication devices, have been described as one of the deadliest incidents of its kind in recent history.

In response to the crisis, the Directorate instructed airlines operating at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport to notify passengers that pagers and walkie-talkies are strictly prohibited both in carry-on luggage and checked baggage.

The Directorate emphasized that any such devices found on passengers or in their luggage will be confiscated.

This precautionary measure aims to prevent any potential recurrence of similar incidents and to ensure the safety of all passengers.
