Roya News' correspondent reported Friday that there are unconfirmed reports of the assassination of a prominent figure in Syria, following the targeting of a vehicle on the Damascus Airport road.

Syrian media later confirmed that one person was killed and another injured in an airstrike launched by Israeli Occupation forces, which targeted a vehicle near Damascus International Airport.

The incident follows heightened tensions in the region, with Israel frequently carrying out airstrikes in Syria, citing concerns over Iranian presence and weapons transfers to Hezbollah.
