King Abdullah II, Kuwaiti Crown Prince discuss urgent need to halt war on Lebanon

His Majesty King Abdullah II met with Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah, the Crown Prince of Kuwait, on Monday, where he underscored the importance of intensifying Arab efforts to halt the war on Lebanon.

During their meeting in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, His Majesty emphasized that the immediate step needed to de-escalate tensions in the region is to cease the war on Gaza.

The two leaders discussed the humanitarian needs in Gaza and explored avenues for enhancing cooperation between Jordan and Kuwait to strengthen humanitarian responses in the area.

King Abdullah also cautioned against the serious consequences of attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank and on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Additionally, the meeting reaffirmed the strong historical ties between the two countries and their peoples, highlighting the commitment to expand collaboration in various fields.

Attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and the Director of His Majesty’s Office, Alaa Batayneh.
