His Majesty King Abdullah II held separate meetings today, Monday, with several heads of state and senior officials participating in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

He met with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, and US Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo.

During these discussions, His Majesty emphasized that the ongoing escalation in the region necessitates a unified and urgent international effort to de-escalate tensions and prevent the conflict from spreading, reaffirming the need to halt the war on Lebanon.

He also stressed the importance of achieving an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza as a critical step toward de-escalation, calling for increased humanitarian assistance to the region.

King Abdullah warned of the persistent attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank and the violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, highlighting that the region will remain trapped in violence unless a political solution is found to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

The meetings also addressed regional and international developments and explored ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
