King Abdullah II meets US business leaders

On Wednesday, King Abdullah II met with CEOs and representatives of American companies and universities in Annapolis, Maryland, to discuss investment opportunities in Jordan and strengthen economic cooperation.

The meeting, organized by Maryland Governor Wes Moore, focused on building on the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States to expand collaboration for the benefit of both countries.

King Abdullah emphasized Jordan’s ongoing economic modernization efforts, aimed at promoting investment opportunities, improving the business environment, increasing export competitiveness, and creating jobs for Jordanians. He also highlighted Jordan’s commitment to political and administrative reforms despite regional challenges.

The meeting explored ways to leverage Jordan’s investment advantages and included discussions on the experiences of leading American companies operating in the country. Governor Moore emphasized the importance of connecting Jordan with the companies and universities represented at the meeting to explore collaboration and investment opportunities.

Attendees included executives and representatives from sectors such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, engineering, food industries, technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, financial services, and hospitality.

Also present were the Director of the King's Office, Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Washington, Dina Kawar.

Additionally, King Abdullah held a separate meeting with Governor Wes Moore to review the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States.
