Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati revealed on Sunday that the ongoing Israeli Occupation strikes displaced approximately one million people, marking an unprecedented wave of displacement in the nation’s history.

“This situation represents the largest displacement crisis Lebanon has ever faced,” Mikati stated. “Our main focus is to stop the current Israeli aggression through ongoing diplomatic efforts. We have no other alternatives.”

Mikati also reaffirmed Lebanon's commitment to UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which aims to establish a ceasefire between "Israel" and Hezbollah.

He added, “The Lebanese army is prepared to implement the resolution,” underscoring the necessity of preventing any further escalation.

Additionally, Mikati engaged in a phone call with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, expressing appreciation for Iraq’s continued support for Lebanon during this crisis.

The Iraqi leader reiterated his country’s commitment to aid Lebanon and extended condolences for the recent death of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli Occupation airstrike in Beirut on Friday.
