Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, spoke with Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Monday, reaffirming Jordan's unwavering support for Lebanon’s security, stability, and sovereignty in light of the ongoing Israeli Occupation aggression.

During the call, Safadi communicated directives from King Abdullah II to provide all possible assistance to Lebanon as it navigates the impacts of the war. He stressed the importance of international efforts to establish an immediate ceasefire and to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Safadi highlighted Mikati's readiness to deploy the Lebanese army to the area south of the Litani River, ensuring coordination with international peacekeeping forces.

He also urged the Lebanese parliament to convene for the election of a new president.

In separate calls with Norway's Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide and Spain's Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares, Safadi discussed the escalating situation in the region, emphasizing the need for immediate action to halt the violence.

Both counterparts supported the call for a ceasefire and reinforced the necessity of implementing Resolution 1701.

Jordan already dispatched two planes of aid to Lebanon and continues to provide support to its neighbor during this crisis.

Safadi underscored that ending the aggression on Gaza is essential to stabilizing the situation and ensuring humanitarian relief for affected populations in both Gaza and the West Bank.
