The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation announced Monday that only $781 million of Jordan’s $2.249 billion response plan for the Syrian crisis was made available by the international community over the past year.

Jordan Response Plan (JRP) got receieved 34.7 percent its total funding and the deficit now stands at $1.468 billion.

A total of $233 million of the secured amount was used to help refugees; $195 million for host communities; and $353 million went to the state’s budget which was added to the JRP this year. The infrastructure and institutional capacity building component received no funding in 2020.

The United States provided the most funds at $382 million, followed by Germany at $110 million.
