The Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply and the Minister of Labor, Youssef Al-Shamali, said Saturday that the tripartite committee for labor affairs will hold a meeting Thursday to discuss the possibility of increasing the minimum wage.

He spoke about the important role of the private sector in facing crises such as the coronavirus pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.

Shamali explained that there is a plan to implement the national program for employment and support the private sector in order to employ those who are looking for jobs.

He added that JD 30 million have been allocated to support this specific program implemented by the Ministry of Labor.
