For the 16th consecutive day, Jericho remains under Israeli Occupation military siege with procedures at checkpoints causing stifling traffic at all the city's entrances, as reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Military checkpoints have been set up by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) at all the main entrances to Jericho since April 22.

This resulted in traffic jams, delays and unusually long queues as soldiers conduct searches before allowing Palestinians to pass through.

According to official Palestinian estimates, Jericho’s tourism sector has incurred losses estimated at USD 60 million since early February, as a result of these measures and restrictions.
