A delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) arrived Sunday for a visit to Al-Shifa Medical Complex in the Gaza Strip.

The delegation emphasized the harsh conditions in the hospital after it was stormed by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), cut off from supplies, and several sections were destroyed, according to the Palestinian news agency Shehab.

The Director-General of Hospitals in the Gaza Strip, Mohammed Zqout, had previously stated that a team from the WHO would go to the hospital to evacuate 32 children from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

The WHO stated that Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza has become "incapable" of operating, lacking water, food, electricity and fuel, with exhausted medical supplies.

The organization added that the health workers in the hospital requested support to evacuate patients who could no longer receive life-saving care at the hospital.

It emphasized that the current situation is "unbearable and cannot be justified," calling for an immediate ceasefire and the protection of health facilities and civilians.
