US strikes Houthi surface-to-air missile in “self-defense”, announces CENTCOM

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Saturday that it carried out a “self-defense” strike against one surface-to-air missile being prepared to be launched by the Yemen’s Houthis towards the Red Sea - per an official statement.

CENTCOM added that it identified the missile and determined that it presented a threat to the US aircraft in the region - striking at approximately 12:40 PM Sana’a time.

Earlier at 10:46 PM, The Houthis launched one anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) from Yemen into the Red Sea. There was no impact or damage to any vessels - per CENTCOM.
