Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari, in a press conference held Tuesday, stated that Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed with the American official efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and to provide aid to the besieged Palestinians in the Strip.

Regarding the negotiations process, Al-Ansari stated that the situation is highly complex, but negotiations are still ongoing.

"We are not near a deal, meaning that we are not seeing both sides converging on language that can resolve the current disagreement over the implementation of a deal," he said, adding that talks between the parties continued.

Qatar still emphasizes the necessity of opening land crossings for aid to enter Gaza without restrictions, Al-Ansari said, affirming that the maritime corridor for aid into Gaza cannot replace land crossings.
