The Jordan Valley Authority Saturday has removed new infringements on the King Abdullah Canal South Shuna distric (Shunah al-Janubiyah) as part of its campaign to preserve water resources.

The North Dead Sea Violations Directorate, in cooperation with security agencies and the Royal Administration for Environmental Protection, removed 18 illegally installed pipes of various diameters and lengths used to unlawfully withdraw water for irrigating plots of land outside the irrigation project, which do not have water rights.

Legal actions will be taken against the violators according to regulations.

These campaigns continue to stop infringements on the canal, illegal water withdrawal, and reduce losses, to ensure that farmers receive their rightful water allocations for their agricultural units fairly.
