Saturday, the Greater Karak Municipality confiscated a quantity of chicken deemed unsuitable for human consumption due to improper storage, along with another batch that had expired, as stated by the mayor, Engineer Muhammad Al-Maaitah.

Maaitah conveyed in a statement reported by the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the municipality's health department has conducted 78 inspection tours since the beginning of the month of Ramadan, spanning both evening and morning periods, resulting in the issuance of 60 violations.

He further explained that these violations encompassed instances of displaying expired and uncovered food items, stalls causing traffic obstruction, as well as poultry shops and bakeries operating with expired health certificates.

Similarly, Muhammad Al-Saoub, the Director of Industry and Trade in the governorate, highlighted that the directorate's teams conducted 60 inspection rounds throughout Ramadan, resulting in 12 violations.

He elaborated that the directorate had initiated a program at the start of the holy month to execute monitoring campaigns that extend late into the night to oversee markets, regulate food supplies and their availability, and adhere to price announcements.
