His Majesty King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II received His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait, upon his arrival at Marka Airport in Jordan for a two-day state visit - per a statement by the Royal Hashemite Court (RHC).

A formal reception ceremony was held for Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

As His Highness's aircraft entered Jordanian airspace, it was escorted by F-16 fighter jets belonging to the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) as a gesture of welcome.

At the reception was Prince Mired bin Ra'ad, Chief Chamberlain of the Royal Hashemite Court, who heads the accompanying honorary mission, as well as heads of authorities, senior civilian and military officials, the Jordanian ambassador to Kuwait, the Kuwaiti ambassador to Jordan, and members of the Kuwaiti embassy staff.

Upon arrival at the Royal Hashemite Court, the convoy of His Highness the Emir of Kuwait, surrounded by the red convoy designated for official occasions and national celebrations, was accompanied by a group of Royal Guards cavalrymen (Al-Khayalah) as a welcome gesture to the esteemed guest of Jordan.

The streets of the capital, Amman, were adorned with the flags of Jordan and Kuwait, and banners carrying welcoming messages to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Sabah were raised.

His Highness the Emir of Kuwait is accompanied by a delegation including the Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, Dr. Anwar Al-Madfa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Al-Yahya, and several other officials.
