The Iranian government has marked June 28 as the date for the next presidential elections – according to reports from Iranian media.
The decision to hold the 14th presidential elections comes after the death of President Ebrahim Raisi in a -peculiar- helicopter crash on Sunday evening, which also claimed the lives of Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian along with Raisi’s entourages.
Candidates can be registered from May 30 to June 3, after which they can campaign from June 12 to 17.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the Constitutional Council has initially approved this schedule.
