The Ministry of Finance announced that domestic revenue reached JD 4.54 billion in the first half of 2024, marking an increase of JD 54.2 million compared to the same period last year.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the ministry noted that these revenues cover 92.3 percent of current expenditures.

Regarding public spending, the ministry reported that total government expenditure for the first half of 2024 amounted to JD 5.353 billion, compared to JD 5.144 billion during the same period last year.

The budget deficit had reached JD 771.5 million dinars after aid.

The ministry also highlighted that the government debt-to-GDP ratio, excluding the Social Security Investment Fund, decreased to 89 percent of the estimated GDP for June, compared to 89.2 percent in 2023.
