Jordan strongly condemned today the escalating Israeli occupation violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif.

It expressed outrage at the unprecedented allowance by “Israeli” police and Jewish extremists to desecrate the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque since the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967.

It warned of the consequences of preventing most Muslims from Palestine and around the world from accessing Al-Aqsa Mosque and performing prayers there.

The statement highlighted that the occupation authorities are protecting Jewish extremists' violations and their attempts to make fundamental changes to the mosque, both internally and externally, in pursuit of hidden and publicized goals to Judaize Al-Aqsa Mosque. This places it in the most dangerous phase of altering its historical and legal status – per the statement.

Jordan reaffirmed the Muslim community's religious, historical, and legal rights to Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, under the guardianship and care of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein. It emphasized that the mosque is exclusively for Muslims and cannot be divided or shared.

Jordan called on the Arab and Islamic nations to take responsibility and apply pressure on the occupation to stop its attempts to control Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning of the intensifying efforts to Judaize the holy sites and their surroundings, which could lead to an even more dangerous situation than the current one.
