The Southern Military Region Command successfully thwarted two infiltration and drug smuggling attempts on its western front on Saturday, involving individuals and a drone, according to a statement from a Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army official source.

The source explained that through monitoring and surveillance efforts, the rules of engagement were applied to several smugglers, forcing them to retreat. A subsequent search of the area uncovered quantities of narcotics, which were then handed over to the relevant authorities.

Additionally, the source reported that a separate attempt to smuggle drugs using a drone was foiled on the western front. After surveillance and investigation, the rules of engagement were enforced, leading to the drone being shot down inside Jordanian territory. The drone was found to be carrying narcotics, and the confiscated materials were also turned over to the relevant authorities.

The source reaffirmed that the Jordan Armed Forces remain committed to utilizing all available resources and capabilities to prevent any form of infiltration and smuggling, ensuring the safety and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
