The funeral of Maher Al-Jazi, who was killed during the operation at the King Hussein Bridge, is currently taking place in Al-Husseiniya, Ma’an, after his body was handed over by official authorities.

Maher’s uncle, Habis Al-Jazi Al-Huwaitat, confirmed that his nephew’s funeral will be held today, Tuesday, after the noon prayer. The procession will begin at Al-Husseiniya Mosque, and his body will be laid to rest at the Al-Oudat cemetery.

Habis also mentioned that the entire Jordanian public wishes to pay their final respects to Maher Al-Jazi. He emphasized that the Al-Jazi family and the Huwaitat tribe are considered a backbone of the state and expressed appreciation for the support shown by Jordanians.

Body Handover
Maher Al-Jazi’s family received his body following the completion of legal and medical procedures, according to a source close to the family who spoke to Roya. The specialized public prosecutor ordered the release of the body to the family after a forensic examination supervised by a medical committee.

Members of the Al-Jazi tribe collected the body from an area near Al-Husseiniya and accompanied it in a large funeral procession. Maher will be buried in his hometown’s Al-Oudat cemetery.

On Tuesday, Jordan officially received the body of Maher Al-Jazi, who was killed during the operation at the King Hussein Bridge, which resulted in the deaths of three 'Israelis'.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates confirmed the receipt of Maher’s body, stating that it would be buried in Jordan after being handed over to his family.

The Ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Qudah, said in a statement to Petra that the Ministry continues to coordinate with relevant authorities to secure the release of two Jordanians, Musleh Al-Oudat and Hussein Al-Naimat, who are currently detained following the shooting incident that occurred on the Palestinian side of the King Hussein Bridge, controlled by Israeli Occupation Forces, on September 8.
