United Nations Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday to discuss the situation in Lebanon, following a request from France.

Meanwhile, Iraq has called for an urgent Arab-Islamic summit to address the situation in Lebanon. Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced that during a meeting in New York on Monday, Iraq proposed the summit to unify efforts to halt Israeli Occupation aggression against Lebanon.

Hussein emphasized the importance of immediate action and collective efforts to protect the Lebanese people and defend their legitimate rights under international law. He stressed that Arab and Islamic solidarity is essential to confronting the challenges facing the region.

Arab foreign ministers held their annual consultative meeting on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, chaired by Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak.

The meeting discussed the developments of the brutal war launched by Israeli Occupation on Gaza, as well as the dangerous escalation against Lebanon. The ministers expressed their full solidarity with Lebanon's government and people amid these escalations.

They agreed on the need for coordination with member states of the Islamic group in the coming days to send a clear message to the international community, calling for an immediate end to the Israeli Occupation aggression.
