Army chief asserts air force readiness to protect national security

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, inspected the readiness of weapons, equipment, and personnel at the Muwaffaq Al-Salti Air Base on Thursday to assess its strategic deterrence capabilities. He was welcomed by the Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) – a statement by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) said.

During the visit, Maj. Gen. Al-Hunaiti received a briefing on operational, training, and logistical matters, along with future plans and ongoing efforts on both operational and humanitarian fronts. He toured various squadrons, commending their readiness and preparedness for any assigned duties, and inspected the latest weapons, equipment, and simulators, including the flight simulation center, which enhances training under diverse weather conditions.

The Chairman emphasized that the ongoing modernization of aircraft, weapons, and equipment is crucial for the armed forces to fulfill their mission in defending Jordan's land and airspace.

Maj. Gen. Al-Hunaiti also participated in an F-16 flight along the border, saluting the Border Guards for their dedication to defending the nation. He signed the guest book, honoring the sacrifices of Muwaffaq Al-Salti and his comrades from the Royal Jordanian Air Force.

At the end of the visit, attended by senior military officers, Maj. Gen. Al-Hunaiti met with base personnel, conveying the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty, the Supreme Commander, for their high morale and outstanding readiness in safeguarding the nation's borders with efficiency and skill – according to the JAF’s statement.
