Friday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson received the AstraZeneca vaccine against the coronavirus.

Earlier Friday, the World Health Organization confirmed that the benefits of the AstraZeneca vaccine against the coronavirus outweighs its risks, after reviewing the safety data associated with the possibility of causing blood clots.

The WHO Vaccine Safety Advisory Committee stated that the characteristics of the AstraZeneca vaccine "remain positive in terms of benefits versus risks, with enormous potential (it has) to spare injuries and reduce deaths worldwide."

It added that "the available data does not indicate an overall increase in blood clots."
