Britain's National Crime Agency (NCA) said that six men, aged 24 - 49, were arrested on a luxury yacht off the British coast who were in possession of more than two tons of cocaine valued over €160 million.

The yacht was sailing about 80 miles from the port of Plymouth, southern England coming from the Caribbean.

According to NCA, one of the men was a Briton and the other five from Nicaragua.

“There's no doubt these drugs would have been sold on into communities across the UK in such ways as county lines fuelling more crime and misery,” said deputy director, Matt Horne.

Additionally, the head of Britain's domestic intelligence service (MI5), Ken McCallum, said that counter-terrorism police and intelligence services have thwarted 31 terrorist attacks in Britain during the past four years.

McCallum told the BBC Friday that most of these conspiracies were planned by extremist people, and members of far-right politics.

He also added that although MI5 “saved thousands of lives across the last 20 years” it “cannot always succeed.”
