The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) struck its headquarters in Naqoura, South Lebanon, with a shell, causing only material damage.

The southern Lebanese border area has been witnessing intermittent shelling and rocket fire exchanges between Hezbollah and the IOF.

Earlier, the Lebanese Minister of Defense in the caretaker government affirmed Lebanon's commitment to the safety of UNIFIL and its continuation in carrying out its mandated tasks.

He emphasized "Lebanon's commitment to international decisions, especially Resolution 1701," highlighting "the importance of maintaining stability in the south in light of the close cooperation between the army and UNIFIL."

He underscored the necessity for "the conflict and bloodshed in Gaza to cease, and for seeking a solution to the conflict in the region based on the United Nations resolutions addressing the root causes of this conflict."
