The Hebrew media announced Monday that 2,000 soldiers affiliated with the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) received psychological treatment since the beginning of the war in Gaza on Oct. 7.

The outlet added that the soldiers were classified as 'injured' and 'affected' by the battles in the Gaza Strip, for which they needed mental health treatment.

It explained that the affected individuals are those who have been involved in events with gunfire, engaged in a battle, suffered an injury or witnessed difficult scenes which impacted their functional performance thereafter.

The damage to the soldier's functional level may be reflected through a range of reactions, such as fear, silence, isolation, stress or a general feeling of unease.

It mentioned that the IOF opened two mental health centers in the southern region since Oct. 7, in addition to a telephone guidance center to recruit specialists and psychologists from the reserve forces.
