A day after the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) said it had bolstered its air defense systems, widespread disruptions in the Global Positioning System (GPS) have taken place in the area near northern “Israel” and south Lebanon, with the issue also being present in areas of north Jordan.

Several users in Jordan and Lebanon reported problems with the GPS, making them appear as if they were in Cairo or nearby countries. Residents of north “Israel” were also shown that they were in Beirut.

It is believed that the IOF is blocking GPS signals to disrupt weapons targeting systems.

This comes amidst their near-daily skirmishes with the Lebanese political and militant group Hezbollah, which has been ongoing since the start of the “Israeli” aggression against the Gaza Strip.

GPS jamming is a technique that simply involves producing a radio frequency signal strong enough to drown out the transmissions from GPS satellites. Thus, it becomes difficult for other GPS users to accurately determine their geographic location.
