The “Israeli” War Cabinet sent a delegation to Cairo, Egypt for talks with the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) William J. Burns in addition to Egyptian and Qatari officials on a new prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and “Israel” - according to Axios.

The “Israeli” delegation will have an “empowered mandate” ahead of the meeting scheduled on Sunday with the CIA Director William Burns, the Prime Minister of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Director of Egyptian intelligence Abbas Kamel - according to two “Israeli” officials cited by Axios.

The delegation is composed of Mossad’s Director David Barnea, the Shin Bet’s Director Ronen Bar, and Major General Nitzan Alon.

A senior official added that the War Cabinet's directive to the “Israeli” delegation is to refine the mediators' proposal and come back with a formula that is most likely to result in a deal.
