Hamas leadership member Khalil al-Hayya announced Saturday that the movement received the Israeli Occupation's response to its position, delivered to Egyptian and Qatari mediators on April 13.

Hayya stated that the movement would study the proposal and deliver a response upon completion.

A member of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) confirmed that the movement is engaged in serious negotiations for a permanent ceasefire and a genuine exchange deal.

The top Hamas leader previously welcomed American statements about the possibility of reaching an exchange deal and ceasefire, noting that the movement awaits the occupation and mediators' response to its stance.

He added that the American statements came before Hamas received any response from the Israeli Occupation or mediators.

He also pointed out that the resistance does not want to retain the captives, emphasizing their seriousness in releasing them through consensus and serious negotiations.

Hayya highlighted that the lack of progress in negotiations is due to the Israeli Occupation's obstinacy, with the real issue being the occupation's refusal to accept a ceasefire and withdraw from Gaza.

He mentioned that the occupation rejected a proposal to exchange a soldier for 50 Palestinian prisoners, including 30 with life sentences.

Yedioth Ahronoth reported details of an Egyptian proposal, stating that it includes the release of all captives from Israeli Occupation, a ceasefire for one year, and the cancellation of the Rafah invasion.

An Egyptian delegation is expected to arrive in Tel Aviv to discuss the proposal, which demands 50 Palestinian prisoners for each captured soldier and 30 for each civilian.
