What are remaining holidays in Jordan for 2024?

With the end of the summer vacation and the return to school in Jordan, many are wondering about the remaining official holidays for the year 2024.

For the rest of August and the upcoming four months, there are three official holidays left:

1. Parliamentary Elections Day
The Independent Election Commission has set Tuesday, September 10, 2024, as the date for the parliamentary elections. It is customary for the government to declare an official holiday on election day to enable citizens to exercise their voting rights.

2. Prophet Muhammad's Day of Birth
Prophet Muhammad's Birthday, observed on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal in the Islamic calendar, falls on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024. The country will celebrate this religious occasion with extensive festivities.

3. Christmas Day
Christmas Day is celebrated on Dec. 25 each year, and this year it will be on Wednesday. Christians will attend church services, streets will be adorned with Christmas trees, and various events will be organized across the country.
