A Belgian Tiktoker, known as “Ragnar Le Fou,” faked his own death to teach his friends and relatives a lesson, according to a video he posted later.

David Baerten, 45, with the help of his wife and children, decided to execute an elaborate prank to find out what his loved ones really thought about him.

“Rest in peace, Daddy. I will never stop thinking about you,” Baerten's daughter announced her father’s ‘death’ on her social media, adding, “Why is life so unfair? Why you?”

The funeral, which was held near the Belgian city of Liège, was attended by many mourning friends and family members.

While everyone waited for the ceremony to begin, they were met by a landing helicopter.

The supposedly dead man, Baerten, emerged from the helicopter shouting ‘LOL!’ and laughing, according to reports.

He was greeted by the mourners with many still crying as they hugged him.

He later posted a video on TikTok explaining the reason behind his prank saying in French, “What I see in my family often hurts me. I never get invited to anything. Nobody sees me. We all grew apart,” reports said.

“I felt unappreciated. That’s why I wanted to give them a life lesson, and show them that you shouldn’t wait until someone is dead to meet up with them,” he added.

Social media users denounced the prank calling it a “cry for attention” with one even writing, “Now we know why people didn’t like him.”

Others, however, did like the prank saying, “It’s sad that some family members only see you after you’re dead. God bless you.”
