The European Union's Ursula von der Leyen condemned the Hamas operation in the Israeli Occupation describing it as "senseless."

Her words were: "I condemn in the strongest possible terms the senseless attack by Hamas on Israel. This violence is neither a political solution nor an act of bravery; it is pure terrorism and Israel has the right to defend itself. The European Union stands shoulder to shoulder with Israel and, dear friends, this ordeal is yet another in the long list of challenges we overcome together."

This was said as she spoke as guest of honor at the European Campus Renaissance in Bordeaux, France.

Notably, the Palestinian Ministry of Health earlier announced that 232 Palestinians were martyred and 1,610 others were wounded as a result of the Israeli Occupation’s aggression against Gaza.
