Jordan expressed its strongest condemnation Wednesday for the Israeli Occupation's shelling in the vicinity of the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza, which resulted in the injury of seven members of the hospital staff.

The staff members were attempting to provide medical assistance to Palestinian citizens who had been injured during Israeli Occupation attacks and were transferred to the emergency department.

Sufian Al-Qudah, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, stated that the endangerment of the hospital and its staff by the Israeli Occupation during the shelling against Palestinian brethren is a rejected and condemned crime.

He emphasized that it represents a clear violation of international law.

The Jordanian government holds the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) fully responsible for jeopardizing the lives of the Jordanian medical teams.

Qudah indicated that the government is awaiting the results of the investigation initiated by the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army to take necessary legal and political measures against this heinous crime.

He also condemned the war crimes committed by the Occupation in Gaza, targeting all Palestinian hospitals, constituting a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949.

He underscored the necessity for the international community to take a clear and explicit stance condemning Israeli Occupation war crimes and putting an end to them.

The spokesperson emphasized the importance of Israeli Occupation's compliance with its obligations under international law, especially international humanitarian law.

This includes refraining from attacking hospitals as protected places and avoiding any actions that hinder or obstruct medical personnel from performing their duties.

It was reported earlier by the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army that seven members of the Jordanian Field Hospital staff in Gaza were injured at the entrance of the emergency department.

The injuries ranged from minor to stable, and their colleagues are providing necessary care for them and several Palestinian brethren.

The armed forces have initiated an official investigation to determine the details of the incident and reaffirm the Israeli Occupation's responsibility to ensure the necessary protection for the hospital and its staff.

Following the directives of His Majesty the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the hospital will continue to fulfill its humanitarian duty towards the Palestinian brethren.
