Spanish clothing giant Zara has chosen “Israeli” supermodel Sun Mizrahi to lead its latest campaign, prompting intense backlash once again after previously releasing promotional pictures of bodies wrapped in a white body bag reminiscent of traditional Muslim burial attire which coincided with the peak of the “Israeli” aggression against the Gaza Strip in December.

In the photo published by Zara to their 62 million Instagram followers, over 11 thousand comments were made, mostly negative, in disapproval of the retailer’s choice to feature the “Israeli” supermodel.

“I guess after trying to turn Gaza slaughter & genocide into a fashion statement, [It] makes sense [for Zara] to be supporting an apartheid model,” one comment by a user said.

The comment section was flooded with the Palestinian flag, along with calls to boycott the brand.

"Due to scheduling constraints of the model, who is currently on a flight to New York for a new campaign shoot, unfortunately, we cannot comment on Sun's personal opinions on the situation. But we are confident that she is happy to be the Israeli face so identified with our country around the world, especially in such times,” Sun Mizrahi’s spokesperson said in a statement.

Zara has not released any official statement regarding the issue so far.
