A 21-year-old Israeli Occupation soldier took his own life in a public incident, just two days after returning from active duty in Gaza, according to Israeli media.

Hebrew website Hadashot Bazman reported that the soldier, a resident of the Or Yehuda settlement, committed suicide on Ares Street. He was part of the Israel Occupation Forces (IOF) reserves that had been recently discharged from service in Gaza.

This event follows the suicide of another IOF soldier, Eliran Mizrahi, who took his own life last week to avoid returning to the war in Gaza.

According to the Hebrew site Walla, Mizrahi had worked in Gaza as an excavator driver for 78 days and was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Mizrahi was scheduled to return to duty in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, but ended his life before he could be redeployed. He had previously shared photographs and accounts of his actions during his service, boasting of his brutal acts in the besieged strip.

Haaretz reported that 10 IOF officers and soldiers have committed suicide since October 7. However, the newspaper claims that the military has been attempting to cover up these incidents.
